This emerged during a meeting held by Engineer Randa El-Menashawy, Minister of Housing, with officials from 'Misr Cities Transport Company' to review the company's vision for developing and managing the transport network in new cities. The meeting was attended by Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister for Urban Communities, along with several ministry and New Urban Communities Authority officials. Engineer Mohamed Abu Taleb, CEO of 'Misr Cities Asset and Facility Management Company'.
Integration with Main Transport Networks
The Minister stressed that developing the transport system has become an urgent necessity to keep pace with the rapid urban and population growth in new cities. She emphasized the importance of providing safe, regular, and sustainable transport means, with full coordination with the Ministry of Transport to achieve integration between internal transport networks and the main transport network — including linking new cities to the monorail and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system.
El-Menashawy pointed to the importance of leveraging modern technological solutions in vehicle operation, fare collection, and traffic monitoring. These solutions will contribute to raising operational efficiency and improving citizens' experience, while providing more accurate tools to monitor system performance under various conditions.
