Motorcycle Registrations Drop 19% in July After June Surge
After an exceptional surge in June, motorcycle registrations fell to 35,168 units in July. That's a 19.08% decline compared with the previous month when 43,461 bikes were registered, marking the sharpest drop among all vehicle segments.
Motorcycles Still Lead the Market
Despite losing over 8,000 registrations in a single month, motorcycles retained the top spot among all vehicle categories. According to the Egyptian Motor Insurance Compulsory Pool's report, bikes accounted for roughly 55.3% of all registrations in July, confirming that the current decrease is more of a natural correction after June's spike than an actual demand slowdown.
2026 Models Dominate
The data also revealed continued dominance of 2026 models, with 28,447 units representing about 80.9% of the total. Meanwhile, registrations for 2025 models dropped to just 5,478 units, clearly pointing to a market shift toward newer model years.
2027 models are beginning to appear in the Egyptian market, albeit very modestly — only 3 units were registered during the month. These figures provide a clear picture of the product life cycle in the local market, where most registrations concentrate on recent model years.
