The shift is real. Geely recorded 225 licensed electric vehicles during July, securing the top spot in the monthly rankings compiled by Egypt's mandatory vehicle insurance pool for the very first time. These figures highlight a major transformation in consumer preferences across the local automotive landscape.

Fierce Competition at the Top

Rox and Dipel shared second place with 122 cars each, while Nissan took the fourth position with 114 units. The gap between first and fourth place stood at just 111 vehicles, underlining how tightly contested this growing segment has become. Every single registration tells a story in this race.

The next three positions delivered equally compelling numbers. BYD claimed fifth with 110 cars, followed by DFSK in sixth place at 87 units. Forthen settled for seventh with 74 vehicles. What stands out is the diversity of brands now finding traction among Egyptian buyers in a relatively short span.

Lower Ranks Signal New Entrants

Zeekr secured eighth place with 69 cars, Xpeng followed in ninth with 52 units, and MG rounded out the top ten at 49 vehicles. These results prove that the market is no longer dominated by one or two players, as more manufacturers carve out their own share of the pie.

Mercedes recorded 42 cars, BMW posted 41 units, and Avatar brought up the rear of the list with 37 vehicles. The monthly data paints a vivid picture of EV adoption in Egypt, and industry watchers are studying these trends closely to anticipate where demand heads next.
