Egypt’s used car market continues to witness pricing levels that many consider well beyond traditional vehicle values, with several economy cars that have been on the road for more than a decade now being offered at prices nearing EGP 1 million.

Used car dealers attribute the sharp increase to supply-and-demand dynamics, particularly for highly sought-after models that have been discontinued and disappeared from new-car showrooms years ago. Growing demand from buyers seeking reliability and proven ownership experience has also played a major role in sustaining these elevated prices.

Kia Cerato

The Kia Cerato remains a popular choice among young drivers and families, especially 2015 to 2019 model years. Average prices in the used car market currently range between EGP 550,000 and EGP 900,000, depending on model year, trim level, and overall condition.

The sedan is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 130 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds.

Hyundai Elantra AD

The Hyundai Elantra AD remains one of the most sought-after sedan models in the used car market, particularly 2017 to 2019 versions, thanks to its modern design and well-rounded equipment levels.

Current market prices typically range from EGP 650,000 to EGP 800,000, with values varying according to vehicle condition, mileage, and available features.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter engine generating 127 horsepower and 155 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has a top speed of 195 km/h.

Mitsubishi Lancer Shark

The Mitsubishi Lancer Shark continues to maintain strong popularity in Egypt’s used car market, remaining a preferred option for buyers looking for an economical vehicle known for reliability and strong resale value.
