Finance Ministry Disburses EGP 12.6 Billion to 2,500 Exporting Companies in One Fiscal Year
Nevin Mansour, the Advisor to the Minister of Finance for Economic Institutions Relations, announced that the Ministry of Finance has disbursed approximately EGP 12.6 billion to about 2,500 exporting companies during the fiscal year 2025/2026. These payments are part of the cash settlement mechanism for companies' dues with the Export Development Fund, aiming to boost liquidity in Egypt's export sector.
Payment Breakdown and Beneficiaries
Mansour revealed that the ministry paid EGP 5.3 billion as the first installment, benefiting 2,447 companies during August and September of the same fiscal year. This was followed by a second payment of EGP 7.3 billion by the end of the fiscal year, benefiting 2,328 companies. She emphasized that these disbursements reflect the state's commitment to providing necessary liquidity for exporters.
Impact on the Export Sector
The advisor confirmed that accelerating the payment of dues underscores the government's dedication to supporting the export sector, aiming to enable Egyptian companies to increase their production and enhance their competitiveness in foreign markets. She noted that this financial support contributes to improving the performance of exporting firms and expanding their export operations.
This initiative is part of the state's strategy to boost Egyptian exports and increase foreign currency revenues by supporting companies across various productive sectors. The move comes as the government seeks to strengthen the private sector's role in driving the national economy forward.
