EGP 12.6 Billion Disbursed to 2,500 Exporters: Egypt's Finance Minister Confirms Two Payments in One Year
Egypt's Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, announced the disbursement of EGP 12.6 billion in cash to approximately 2,500 exporting companies within a single fiscal year, underlining the government's commitment to swiftly settling exporter dues. The minister explained that the first and second tranches of the dues were paid during the fiscal year 2025/2026, instead of being spread over two fiscal years as originally planned.
Accelerating Export Duty Reimbursement
Kouchouk added that the government continues to accelerate export duty reimbursement procedures, thereby enhancing Egyptian companies' competitiveness in foreign markets and boosting their export capacity. He emphasized that concentrating the payment of the two tranches within one year provided significant cash liquidity to companies, helping them sustain production and exports without delay.
Supporting Exporters and Stimulating the Economy
This step is part of the government's efforts to support exporters, especially amid global economic challenges. Speeding up the payment of dues reduces the financial burden on companies and enables them to plan their business operations more effectively. The move is expected to contribute to increasing Egypt's export volumes in the upcoming period.
