Egypt's Commercial Vehicle Sales Remain Stable in July
Egypt's commercial vehicle market is holding its ground. The Egyptian Motor Insurance Bureau's latest report revealed sales of 3,397 trucks and commercial vehicles in July 2026, a slight dip of less than 1% compared to June.
Monthly Sales Momentum
June saw 3,430 units sold, while May posted a roughly 35% jump over April. The numbers suggest the commercial vehicle segment has not lost its momentum despite seasonal fluctuations, reflecting steady demand for workhorse vehicles in recent months.
Latest Model Years Dominate the Market
The gap between model years is substantial. Commercial vehicles from the 2027 model year led the pack with 2,399 units sold in July, followed by 2026 models at 765 units. The 2025 models came third with 162 trucks, then 2024 models at 52 units. Finally 2023 models with just 19 units.
A comparison with June reveals a shift in preferences. The previous month recorded 2,259 units from the 2027 model year and 919 units from 2026, while 2023 models fell from 31 to 19 units — a clear sign that buyers are gravitating toward the newest offerings in the market.
Chevrolet Leads Big, Tight Race Behind
The top spot was no surprise. Chevrolet captured 2,425 commercial vehicles in July, a share exceeding 71% of total monthly sales. But the battle for the remaining positions was far closer, with thin margins separating the challengers.
Mitsubishi finished second with 132 trucks, edging out Toyota which recorded 130 units. Mercedes-Benz took fourth place with 86 commercial vehicles, while Nissan rounded out the top five with 55 units. These figures paint a picture of Chevrolet's clear dominance in Egypt's commercial vehicle segment.
