Egypt's automotive manufacturing sector is undergoing a major strategic shift, according to Khaled Saad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Automotive Manufacturers Association. In a recent interview with the Arabity radio program, Saad confirmed a growing interest among local factories in exporting vehicles to international markets. He emphasized that Egypt is making strong progress in car manufacturing, covering both conventional and electric vehicles, which opens new horizons for the national industry.

Three Companies Already Applied for Export

Saad revealed that three companies have already submitted formal requests to export their vehicles to foreign markets, predicting that this trend will accelerate in the coming years as more car plants open locally. He noted that these new factories will boost domestic production capacity, creating a surplus that can be directed toward export markets, further strengthening Egypt's position as a promising industrial hub in the region.

Balancing Local Supply and Exports

The Secretary General stressed that all factories operating in Egypt aim to export their vehicles to maximize the benefits of government incentives designed to support export activities. He pointed out that these plants are now capable of meeting local market demand while simultaneously exporting vehicles to other markets, thanks to advanced manufacturing processes that increase production rates and overall efficiency.

Trade Agreements Open New Markets

Saad predicted a significant increase in trade exchange between Egypt and various African and European countries, as well as with India, Turkey, and the United States in the near future. He explained that this active trade movement, coupled with the commercial agreements Egypt has signed, will play a pivotal role in driving exports and spreading Egyptian-made vehicles across diverse international markets, enhancing the global competitiveness of the local industry.

Government Support Paves Way to Regional Hub Status

Saad emphasized that the support provided by the state to car manufacturers in Egypt, including incentives for increasing local production, exporting, and raising the percentage of locally sourced components, will significantly contribute to transforming Egypt into a regional hub for vehicle manufacturing and export over time. He confirmed that this direction will positively impact investment flows and job creation, supporting the national economy in a sustainable manner.
