Egypt's car market in 2026 isn't what it was a year ago. Vehicle sales jumped 29.7% in the first seven months, reaching 116,869 units compared to 90,104 in the same period of 2025, according to the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC). That is a real shift. Not a projection.

Nearly 30% Growth and Passenger Car Numbers That Tell the Story

Passenger cars alone grew 25%, climbing to 87,140 units from 69,793 in the same seven-month window last year. Buses posted an even sharper gain of 88%, hitting 10,449 units. Trucks rose 30.7% to 19,280 vehicles. The numbers speak for themselves.

Local Assembly Adds Nearly 10,000 Vehicles in Seven Months

Locally assembled vehicles recorded 62,794 units in the first seven months of 2026, up from 52,797 in the same period a year earlier. That is an increase of 9,997 vehicles, or 18.9% growth, per AMIC data. Imported passenger cars, however, grew even faster at 44%. A new equation is taking shape.
