Egypt's Auto Sales Surge 47% in First 4 Months of 2026, AMIC Report Shows
Egypt's automotive market recorded a significant uptick in the first four months of 2026, with total sales climbing 47.2% compared to the same period last year. According to the latest report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), 64,463 vehicles were sold between January and April 2026, up from 43,779 units in 2025.
Passenger Car Sales Drive Growth
The passenger car segment (private vehicles) witnessed a 46% increase, reaching 49,617 units compared to 33,947 units in the corresponding period of 2025. This robust performance highlights sustained consumer demand for new vehicles despite market fluctuations.
Buses and Trucks See Double-Digit Gains
The commercial vehicle segment also posted impressive results. Bus sales across all categories surged by 89.8%, totaling 5,013 units versus 2,641 units last year. Meanwhile, truck sales grew by 36.7%, recording 9,833 units compared to 7,191 units during the same timeframe in 2025.
