Chevrolet Dominates Egypt's Truck Market in 5-Month Period
The numbers are striking. Chevrolet grabbed the largest share of Egypt's truck market during the first five months of 2026, capturing 76.3% with total sales reaching 9,839 vehicles, according to the latest report from the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).
Ranking Breakdown
Second place went to Toyota with a 5.2% market share, selling 676 trucks. The gap from the leader is massive, yet Toyota maintains its position as one of the most sought-after brands in this vital segment. Third came Nissan with 4% and 522 units, a razor-thin margin over its direct rival GMC. That recorded 518 vehicles with nearly the same share.
Rest of the List
Fifth position belonged to Mitsubishi with 3.8% after selling 484 trucks, while Mercedes MCV came sixth with 2.5% and 317 units. The figures reveal a sharp decline in sales volumes after the top two spots, highlighting how Egypt's market concentrates on specific brands for heavy and medium trucks.
Seventh went to Suzuki with 1.7% and 220 trucks sold. Then the percentages keep shrinking: Shacman eighth at 0.6% with 76 units. Volvo ninth with the same share and 71 vehicles. The overall picture shows clear American dominance over this strategic sector.
