Chevrolet topped the list of best-selling car brands in Egypt during June, capturing an 18% market share with 3,166 vehicles sold, according to the latest report from the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC). The figure underscores the American brand's strong presence in the local market.

Fierce Competition for the Top Spots

Chery secured the second position with an 11% market share, totaling 1,856 units sold. It was followed by MG in third place with a 10% share, achieving sales of 1,867 units, a razor-thin margin over its Chinese rival.

The gap between second and third place was just 11 cars. Hyundai ranked fourth with an 8% market share, recording 1,452 sales, while Nissan came fifth with roughly the same percentage, at 1,401 vehicles, followed by Toyota with an 8% share and an identical number of units.

Lower Ranks Show Intense Rivalry in the Egyptian Market

The appearance of Changan in seventh place, after grabbing a 5% market share with 818 cars sold, confirms the growing footprint of Chinese brands. Haval followed in eighth with 3%, selling 580 units, then King Long with a 3% share, totaling 522 vehicles.

Peugeot, meanwhile, clinched the tenth spot on the list of top-selling brands in Egypt across all categories during June, holding a 3% market share with 447 units sold. These numbers reveal the continued dominance of a handful of brands over the majority of the market, with the remaining share distributed among other automakers.

This ranking from the AMIC Chevrolet prices, Chery prices, and Hyundai prices clearly demonstrates that competition in the Egyptian market is no longer exclusive to one marque. The battle is now wide open among several major players, ultimately benefiting consumers with more choices.
