The Hyundai Verna was one of the best-selling cars in Egypt, known for its affordable price, easy maintenance, and widely available spare parts. Locally manufactured from 2009 onward, it became a popular choice for taxi drivers and first-time car buyers.

Engine & Performance
The car uses a 1.6L four-cylinder fuel-injected engine producing 106 hp at 5,800 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Fuel consumption is around 5.5L/100km with a 45L tank, 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and a top speed above 170 km/h. The engine sits on a lightweight body giving decent performance for its class, with no widespread engine or transmission complaints.
Interior & Cabin Space
Dimensions are 4,260mm long, 1,680mm wide, 1,405mm tall, with a 2,440mm wheelbase. The rear bench is narrow but benefits from no transmission tunnel, improving middle-seat comfort. The trunk is relatively large at 390 liters. Air conditioning is a standout strength, though extensive plastic trim can develop rattling noises over time.
Suspension & Stability
The car suffers from some instability at higher speeds; many owners upgrade from the stock 13-inch wheels to 14 or 15-inch wheels to improve handling. Suspension stiffness is moderate and generally well suited to Egyptian road conditions.
Safety
Safety equipment is very limited on Egyptian-market units, typically lacking airbags, ABS, EBD, and ESP. Braking performance drops noticeably above 100 km/h, though it can be improved with servo and brake-line modifications.
Spare Parts, Maintenance & Resale
One of the car's biggest strengths is the wide availability and low cost of spare parts, along with generally easy maintenance. It also holds its value reasonably well on the used market and remains relatively easy to resell despite production ending in 2019.
