Kia Seltos 2027 Launches with New Prices, Faces 5 Compact Crossover Rivals
Kia has announced Egyptian pricing for the 2027 Seltos, with a EGP 50,000 increase over the previous model year, now ranging from EGP 1.369 million to EGP 1.674 million. The base EX trim uses a 1.5-liter engine with 115 hp, while upper trims get a 1.4-liter turbo producing 140 hp. The Seltos faces tough competition from the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro starting at EGP 899,000, plus the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Qashqai.
Kia's local distributor in Egypt has announced pricing for the 2027 Seltos. The compact crossover now starts at EGP 1.369 million for the EX trim and climbs to EGP 1.674 million for the TL-Turbo. That's a EGP 50,000 increase over the previous model year. The numbers set the stage for a fierce battle.
Kia Seltos 2027 Specs and Trim Pricing
The base EX trim runs a 1.5-liter petrol engine rated at 115 hp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with an IVT gearbox and front-wheel drive. The higher HL-Turbo and TL-Turbo trims step up to a 1.4-liter turbocharged unit producing 140 hp and 247 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The HL-Turbo is listed at EGP 1.524 million. That's a solid package for the SUV-B segment.
Chery Tiggo 4 Pro: The Cheaper Alternative
Chery's Tiggo 4 Pro 2027 leads the value charge. It's priced between EGP 899,000 and EGP 999,000, undercutting the Seltos by at least EGP 371,000 against the base EX. But there's a trade-off. The Tiggo 4 Pro offers two engine choices: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit with 111 hp and 138 Nm in Comfort and Luxury trims, plus a turbocharged version for the top trim. Buyers chasing the lowest price will find it here, yet performance feels different.
Other Rivals in the SUV-B Arena
The Seltos isn't alone. Hyundai's Creta remains a strong contender, while the Nissan Qashqai competes with prices starting around EGP 1.3 million. Toyota doesn't have a direct rival in this segment right now, though the C-HR serves as a pricier crossover option. Competition heats up at the price point.
The Egyptian market is feeling pressure in the compact crossover segment. Kia's new pricing reflects the distributor's push to stay competitive despite rising costs. Yet the EGP 50,000 increase over the outgoing model might send some shoppers looking elsewhere. Yes, the Seltos carries the Kia badge and a wide service network, but the Tiggo 4 Pro delivers similar dimensions for over a third of a million pounds less.
