June Sees 9 New Cars Officially Join the Egyptian Market
June witnessed remarkable activity in the Egyptian automotive market, with the launch of nine new models for the first time, ranging from passenger cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks to plug-in hybrids. This expansion reflects the ongoing commitment of global brands to strengthen their presence in the local market, targeting diverse customer segments.
JAC T6 Pickup Truck
Al-Qasrawi Group announced the introduction of the new JAC T6 pickup truck, powered by a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine with a robust chassis designed for transport and heavy-duty use. Official pricing has not yet been announced, but the vehicle targets business owners seeking a practical and durable workhorse.
RELY R8: A 4x4 with a Mitsubishi Engine
The RELY R8 entered the Egyptian market with a 2.4-liter Mitsubishi gasoline engine producing 118 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. The vehicle is available in two trims: Standard at EGP 2.3 million and Comfort at EGP 2.4 million, making it a solid choice for off-road enthusiasts.
Chevrolet S10 MAX and Mitsubishi L200 Pickup
Mansour Automotive launched the new Chevrolet S10 MAX, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine delivering 159 hp and 400 Nm of torque, with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. The vehicle is priced at EGP 5.4 million. Meanwhile, Diamond Motors unveiled the new-generation Mitsubishi L200, featuring a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine producing 184 hp and 430 Nm of torque, mated to an automatic transmission with a four-wheel-drive system. The local distributor confirmed that the vehicle will be available through its dealership network soon, intensifying competition in the mid-size pickup segment.
Hybrid and Electric Model Diversity
The new launches were not limited to internal combustion vehicles; they also included plug-in hybrid models, reflecting the Egyptian market's shift toward more sustainable transportation solutions. These vehicles are expected to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, especially as environmental awareness among consumers continues to grow.
Overall, this notable activity in June underscores the dynamism of the Egyptian car market, as companies strive to meet diverse customer needs by offering a wide range of practical, luxury, and sport utility vehicles. Buyers remain eager for final pricing on certain models, particularly amid ongoing economic fluctuations.
