Jaecoo Makes Official Egypt Debut October 26 Alongside Renault Boreal and Debale S09
Chinese brand Jaecoo is set to make its official Egyptian debut on October 26 through distributor Ezz Elarab El Sewedy, with the J5, J7 and J8 confirmed for the local lineup. GB Auto Group will unveil the Debale S09 on October 25, and EIM will reveal the Renault Boreal on October 28. The Jaecoo J5 uses a 1.5-litre turbo with 147 hp, while the J7 runs a 1.6-litre turbo with 184 hp. Final prices and trims will be announced at the official launch.
Egypt's new-car market is about to welcome Jaecoo officially through local distributor Ezz Elarab El Sewedy on October 26, alongside two first-time arrivals: the Renault Boreal and the Debale S09. Three launches in one week. That pace is unusual for this market.
Jaecoo Opens Its Egypt Chapter With J5, J7 and J8
Ezz Elarab El Sewedy previewed several Jaecoo models at its Reveal event last August, including the J5, J7 and J8, with final prices, trims and equipment set to be confirmed at the official launch. The Jaecoo J5 runs a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 147 hp and 210 Nm, paired with a CVT automatic and front-wheel drive. A 13.2-inch central screen, a digital instrument cluster and driver-assistance systems vary by trim. Those figures put it squarely in the compact SUV fight.
Jaecoo J7 Brings 1.6-Litre Turbo and 184 hp
The larger confirmed model so far is the Jaecoo J7, powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 184 hp and 275 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It carries a suite of tech and safety features plus a sporty exterior design, with final trims and pricing to be revealed at launch. The size and power gap between the two models gives the distributor broad coverage across the SUV segment.
Debale S09 on October 25, Renault Boreal on October 28
GB Auto Group will unveil the Debale S09 on October 25, one day before Jaecoo's launch. The Egyptian International Motors Company (EIM) is preparing to reveal the Renault Boreal on October 28. Three dates inside four days. That timing clash shows distributors are betting on the final quarter to pull buyers in before 2026 books close.
What It Means for New-Car Buyers in Egypt
More brands means wider choice in the SUV class, the most active segment in the local market in recent years. Jaecoo arrives with small-displacement turbo engines, a direction spreading among newer Chinese brands to balance performance and fuel consumption. Yet the real question sits with pricing. The official announcements over the coming days will decide where each model actually lands against existing rivals — technical numbers alone won't do it. The buying decision gets settled on the showroom floor.
