Hyundai Elantra CN8 Revealed: Bold Design and Bigger Dimensions — Will It Reach Egypt?
Hyundai Motor has revealed the all-new eighth-generation Elantra, known as Avante in Korea and codenamed CN8 globally, featuring a bolder design and larger dimensions. The car measures 4,765 mm in length with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, increases of 55 mm and 30 mm respectively over the previous model. The interior gains ambient lighting, a softer dashboard design, and upgraded equipment. Hyundai has not yet announced an official launch date for the Egyptian market, but arrival appears imminent.
Hyundai Motor has unveiled the all-new eighth-generation Elantra, known as Avante in South Korea and codenamed CN8 globally, featuring a bolder design, larger dimensions, and a more advanced interior. The debut took place at the Busan International Motor Show in July, setting the stage for a global rollout.
Bold Exterior and Bigger Dimensions
The new Elantra measures 4,765 mm in length — 55 mm longer than its predecessor — with a wheelbase stretched to 2,750 mm, up by 30 mm. That translates to more cabin room, especially for rear passengers. The exterior sports prominent wheel arches, flush door handles. An additional rear quarter window that gives the car a more elongated, distinctive look compared to the outgoing Elantra CN7. Width has grown to 1,855 mm, with height at 1,425 mm.
A More Premium Cabin
Inside, the changes are extensive. Ambient lighting runs across the dashboard and door panels, the dashboard in front of the passenger gets a softer design, and large cupholders sit ahead of the center armrest — all touches that lift comfort. Hyundai retained traditional control buttons on the steering wheel and driver's door, a practical decision that keeps essential functions within easy reach while driving. The direction is clear: more space, better equipment.
Will the Elantra CN8 Come to Egypt?
The big question for Egyptian buyers: will the Elantra CN8 arrive in Egypt soon? So far, Hyundai has not announced an official local launch date. History suggests the Elantra has maintained a strong presence in Egypt across generations, from the Elantra HD to the Elantra AD and CN7. Arrival of the new generation seems a matter of time, but pricing will be the decisive factor amid fierce competition in the compact sedan segment. Hyundai prices in the local market have seen repeated increases, making CN8 pricing a cautious expectation.
Competition in the Compact Sedan Segment
When it arrives, the Elantra CN8 will face direct competition from the Toyota Corolla, Kia Cerato, and Nissan Sunny. Its larger dimensions could give it an edge in roominess, but pricing will determine its position. Ultimately, the Hyundai Elantra CN8 represents a significant leap in design and dimensions for the Korean sedan. All eyes are on its official arrival date in Egypt.
