7 New Cars Enter the Egyptian Market for the First Time in July 2026
The Egyptian automotive market witnessed remarkable activity during July with several new models launching for the first time, reflecting the continued expansion of global brands in the local market. The new cars span sedan, SUV, and electric vehicle segments, offering diverse options to meet varying needs and budgets.
Kia Electric Vehicles Lead the Charge
Kia kicked off the list of new models with its electric performance SUV EV6 GT, powered by an electric drivetrain equipped with an 84 kWh battery. Its electric motor delivers 640 hp and 740 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The driving range reaches approximately 450 kilometers per charge according to the WLTP standard. The car is available in a single trim level with an official price of 3 million Egyptian pounds.
Kia also introduced the electric multi-purpose vehicle PV5, featuring a front electric motor producing 163 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It is offered with battery capacities of either 51.5 or 71.2 kWh depending on the variant, with a driving range of up to 400 kilometers according to WLTP. The vehicle supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. It is priced officially at 2.5 million Egyptian pounds with a warranty of 5 years or 100,000 kilometers.
Avatar and BYD Strengthen EV Presence
Chinese brand Avatar made its Egyptian market debut through its local distributor, launching the AVATR 07 REEV, an SUV featuring an electric drivetrain with a gasoline engine serving as a range extender. The brand aims to introduce advanced technologies to the local market, with plans to launch further electric and hybrid models in the coming period.
Meanwhile, BYD launched the Sealion 6 EV, equipped with an advanced electric powertrain, adding a new option in the electric SUV segment. This move is part of BYD's strategy to expand its footprint in Egypt, where the Chinese brand has seen growing demand for its electric and hybrid vehicles.
JAC and Jetour Introduce Fresh Options
JAC presented the all-new JS2 for the first time in Egypt, a compact SUV designed to attract young buyers looking for a modern vehicle at a competitive price. The car features a dynamic design and advanced technical equipment suitable for daily use.
Jetour also announced its most affordable model ever introduced in the Egyptian market, further broadening the range of economical SUV choices. These launches coincide with several other brands introducing new pickup trucks, highlighting the diversity of supply in the Egyptian market this July.
Thus, the Egyptian car market continues to attract new brands and innovative models, giving consumers wider choices across various price points and technologies, particularly as demand for electric, hybrid, and economical vehicles grows.
