Tony Latif, an electric vehicle expert, revealed that the load and number of passengers inside an electric car directly affect battery energy. He noted that an increase in passengers, combined with air resistance and road inclines, can lead to a loss of between 15 and 20% of battery energy.

During his interview on the Arabic radio show 'Arabiyati', Latif stated that running the air conditioning also impacts the electric car battery energy by a rate ranging from 15 to 20%. However, he emphasized that it offers high efficiency compared to conventional cars, providing instant cooling as soon as it is turned on.

He explained that an electric car contains a 12-volt battery alongside the main high-voltage battery. This auxiliary battery relies on the main battery for charging through a dedicated system, and it is responsible for powering various electronic systems, including control units, door locks, electrical systems, and multimedia.

Latif confirmed that electric cars are the most suitable choice for city driving, as they greatly benefit from the regenerative braking system. This system enhances energy consumption efficiency and increases the actual driving range.

He added that a 50-kilometer trip may effectively consume only the equivalent of 35 to 40 kilometers of battery energy, thanks to energy recovery systems. He pointed out that this technology gives electric cars a clear advantage when driving in congested urban areas.

The electric vehicle expert also affirmed that the suspension system in electric cars has a longer lifespan compared to that in gasoline-powered vehicles, which helps reduce maintenance costs over the long term.
