Roxx Global Launches from Egypt: Agreement to Manufacture Electric Cars Locally and Export Worldwide
Engineer Khalid Hashem, Minister of Industry, witnessed the signing of a strategic agreement between the El-Arab El-Sewedy Group for Industrial Investment and Roxx Motor International to establish 'Roxx Egypt' and begin local production of the Roxx Reef at the group's factories. This step supports the state's plans to localize the automotive industry and boost Egyptian exports.
Supporting the National Automotive Strategy
The Minister of Industry affirmed that the agreement represents a practical translation of the national automotive industry strategy, revealing the success of state efforts in attracting high-quality industrial investments and transforming Egypt into an attractive destination for major global companies. The minister noted that Egypt is witnessing a radical transformation in its investment environment, with the influx of global companies for direct investment and establishing genuine partnerships with the Egyptian private sector reflecting growing confidence in the national economy and industrial infrastructure.
Deepening Local Manufacturing and Adding Value
The minister explained that the project aligns with the state's vision to deepen local manufacturing and increase added value, especially in priority industries, foremost among them the automotive sector and clean energy vehicles. He emphasized that the government pays special attention to this sector as a key driver of industrial growth.
Aiming for 100,000 Cars by 2030
Hashem highlighted that the automotive industry is at the forefront of targeted sectors within the national program to advance car manufacturing, which aims to reach local production of 100,000 cars by 2030, supported by an integrated package of incentives and investment facilities. The minister pointed out that deepening local manufacturing is the main goal during the current phase, noting that the partnership between Roxx Motor and the El-Arab El-Sewedy Group comes at an ideal time to create a real breakthrough in the Egyptian car market, whether by meeting local market needs or enhancing export capabilities and bringing the Egyptian product to global markets.
The minister called on the new company to develop a clear plan to increase the local component ratio and added value in parallel with production expansion, contributing to the transfer of modern technology and the development of local supply chains. He expressed his aspiration to see tangible results from this cooperation through deepening local industry, transferring advanced technology, and creating new opportunities for growth and investment in the Egyptian automotive sector. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Trade.
