Egypt's General Authority for Government Services is holding a public auction today, Monday, September 14, 2026, to sell vehicles and equipment from the Shalatin Police Department in the Red Sea Governorate. The auction features pickup trucks from Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, and Isuzu, plus a SOLG bulldozer. These government assets are offered for public bidding after their operational service.
Toyota, Nissan, and Chevrolet Trucks Lead the List
The lineup includes several Toyota Hilux pickup trucks, known for their reliability. Single-cab Nissan pickups are also on offer. Single-cab Chevrolet pickups are present. What about Isuzu? Isuzu pickup trucks and an Isuzu Jumbo NPR truck are available, along with a SOLG bulldozer for heavy equipment. Some vehicles are licensable, others aren't, depending on each lot's condition.
Conditions Book and Insurance Requirements
To enter the auction, buyers must purchase the conditions book for 400 EGP, non-refundable if no lot is won. The book is sold at the Government Services Authority headquarters in the Ministry of Finance towers, Building 2, Ramses Street extension. The auction takes place at Al-Hadarat Sports Club on Salah Salem Street, opposite Ain El-Sira Traffic Department, at 12 PM. A 50,000 EGP insurance deposit is required. The supervising committee noted that corporate bidders must present a tax card or commercial register, while individuals need a valid national ID. Upon winning, 30% of the lot value is paid immediately, with the remainder due within 15 days.
These government auctions offer chances to buy vehicles with documented service history at potentially below-market prices. Still, buyers should inspect each lot carefully, especially since some vehicles aren't licensable. Demand for used Toyota Hilux and Nissan pickups remains high in Egypt due to their durability. The auction is an opportunity for those interested in commercial fleets or heavy equipment.
