Chinese cars have experienced a remarkable surge in the Egyptian market in recent years, successfully transforming from a niche choice into one of the most visible automotive segments on Egyptian roads. This shift is driven by a diverse range of models and an expanding network of dealers and service centers.

Amidst the continuous price hikes in the automotive sector, a large segment of buyers has turned to Chinese brands. These manufacturers offer high levels of equipment, advanced technology, and safety systems at competitive prices, significantly boosting their sales and market penetration.

Today, numerous Chinese models have become a common sight on Egyptian streets, spanning sedans and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Major brands continue to strengthen their market share, ranking among the top sellers and most registered vehicles in the local market.

Compulsory Insurance Data Reveals the Ranking

The latest data from the Egyptian Compulsory Motor Insurance Pool revealed the dominance of several Chinese brands on the list of the most registered vehicles during April 2026, an indicator of their widespread adoption and growing consumer demand.

MG Takes the Lead

MG topped the list of the most registered Chinese brands in Egypt during April 2026, recording 1,607 new cars. The brand continues to solidify its position as one of the most widespread Chinese automakers in the local market.

Chery Secures Second Place

Chery came in second place with a total of 1,480 cars, benefiting from the strong popularity of its various models, particularly locally assembled vehicles that have successfully reached a wide range of customers.

Jetour Claims Third

Jetour ranked third after registering 1,131 cars during the month, continuing to enhance its presence in the Egyptian market and achieving robust growth rates in recent times.

BAIC and Soueast Follow

BAIC took fourth place with 793 cars, supported by growing demand for its SUVs and its expanding market footprint. Soueast came in fifth, registering 750 new cars in April, cementing its status as one of the fastest-growing Chinese brands in Egypt.
