July 2026 Roundup: New Cars Enter the Egyptian Market for the First Time
The Egyptian car market saw notable momentum during July 2026. Several models hit the market for the first time, reflecting ongoing competition among global brands for local customers. The launches included sedans, SUVs, and fully electric vehicles, catering to different consumer segments.
Kia EV6 GT: Electric Power at Its Peak
Performance here tells a different story entirely. The Kia EV6 GT relies on an electric powertrain with an 84 kWh battery and a motor producing 640 hp and 740 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds — numbers that rival some supercars. Driving range reaches about 450 kilometers per charge under the WLTP standard. A single trim is available at an official price of 3 million EGP.
Kia PV5: Practicality and Fast Charging
The Kia PV5 offers a different option for those seeking practicality. Its front electric motor generates 163 hp and 250 Nm. Batteries come in 51.5 or 71.2 kWh capacities depending on the trim, with a driving range of up to 400 kilometers. Fast charging takes the battery from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes. The official price is 2.5 million EGP, backed by a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty.
BYD Sealion 6 EV: Multiple Range Choices
The BYD Sealion 6 EV uses the renowned Blade Battery technology. The car is available with two range options — the first reaching 420 kilometers. Full details on the second range variant are still under wraps, but the interest is clear. The added value lies in the safe and durable battery tech. That could attract a large segment of eco-conscious buyers.
July's launches underscore that the Egyptian market is shifting toward diversity. Consumers are no longer stuck with traditional options — they now have high-performance EVs and practical models with modern features. Official prices for these vehicles reflect the current market conditions, while competition intensifies as brands vie for a larger customer base.
