The Egyptian National Railways Authority has announced a new adjustment to the booking window for air-conditioned trains, now allowing passengers to reserve their seats online up to 12 hours before departure, down from the previous 24-hour cutoff. This change is part of ongoing efforts to make train travel more flexible and convenient for passengers across the country.

New Service Details

According to an official statement, the online booking window still opens 15 days before departure, but now remains open until just 12 hours before the train leaves. The service is available through the authority's official website and mobile application, enabling travelers to complete their reservations from anywhere at any time without needing to visit traditional ticket outlets.

Range of Available Services

The mobile application offers a comprehensive suite of services, including ticket booking for all air-conditioned trains, third-class air-conditioned trains, and dynamic ventilation trains. Users can also check train schedules, track various services, and pay for tickets electronically using credit cards or direct bank account debits. This integrated digital platform aims to simplify the entire travel process.

Digital Transformation Goals

This initiative is part of the Egyptian National Railways Authority's broader strategy to modernize its ticketing and reservation system by increasingly adopting digital transformation solutions. The goal is to improve service efficiency, streamline booking procedures, and enhance the overall travel experience while providing greater convenience for all rail passengers throughout Egypt.
