The local assembly landscape in Egypt is witnessing a new surge during the second half of this year, as automotive companies continue to inject fresh investments into the market, aligning with the state's plan to localize the automotive industry and increase the percentage of local components. The coming months are expected to see the launch of several new models that will be produced locally for the first time, enhancing the range of options available to Egyptian consumers.

Positive Impact on Industry and Investment

The significance of this step extends beyond merely increasing the number of locally assembled cars; it also reflects global companies' confidence in the Egyptian market, which has become one of the region's leading destinations for industrial investment. These expansions contribute to supporting local industry, creating new job opportunities, and raising factory production capacity, with a gradual expansion in manufacturing new models within Egypt. The following report highlights the new cars set to join the local assembly list in Egypt.

Nissan Magnite: Launch on August 25

Nissan will begin launching the locally assembled Magnite on August 25. The Nissan Magnite is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine, producing 99 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. The car measures 3994 mm in length, 1758 mm in width, and 1572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2500 mm and a ground clearance of 205 mm.

Hyundai Venue: First Locally Assembled SUV

On August 31, the Hyundai Venue is set to make its official debut in a locally assembled version, bolstering the Korean brand's presence in one of the fastest-growing segments in the Egyptian market. The Hyundai Venue is available in global markets with multiple engine options, most notably a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated unit, paired with either a manual or automatic transmission, depending on the trim and market. The car comes with a 45-liter fuel tank, while fuel consumption in global versions averages between 5.5 and 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers, depending on the engine and transmission type.

Kia X3 Pro: Before the End of November

The Kia X3 Pro is also preparing to join the list of locally assembled cars, with plans to launch in the market by the end of November, as part of the brand's strategy to expand its production base in Egypt. The company has not yet disclosed full details of the specifications or trims that will be available in the local market, but the car is expected to feature advanced technologies suitable for a wide range of customers. This move comes as part of Kia's direction to strengthen its presence in the small sports utility vehicle segment.
