Noha El-Meligy, the General Manager for Volvo and Lynk & Co in Egypt, announced that the opening of the new D5 center represents a pivotal milestone for the Swedish brand in the local market. The facility spans nearly 1,350 square meters and was designed to offer comprehensive services to customers. This move reflects the company's confidence in Egypt's automotive future.
D5 Center: A Showroom and Service Hub
The new facility, named D5 Flagship Showroom & Service Center, can display five cars in its main showroom. The service center includes six fully equipped bays, along with dedicated car washing facilities. This design puts the customer experience first, allowing them to complete both purchase and maintenance in a single visit.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several leaders from Volvo and Ezz Elarab, along with media representatives and brand partners in the local market. The guest delegation also included officials from Volvo Cars EMEA, underscoring the strategic importance that the parent company places on this investment.
Volvo EX90: A New Electric Icon
The announcement of the new center coincided with the official launch of the fully electric Volvo EX90 in the Egyptian market. The new car represents one of Volvo's most prominent models in the electric vehicle segment, combining an advanced suite of safety technologies and modern tech solutions. The Scandinavian design gives it a striking presence on the road, while the electric performance places the brand among global competitors.
El-Meligy explained that launching the EX90 alongside the D5 center opening reflects Volvo's strategy to strengthen its presence in Egypt by introducing new models equipped with cutting-edge technology. The move comes at a critical time, as the global automotive industry undergoes a rapid shift toward sustainable mobility, and the Swedish brand aims to be at the forefront of this transformation in the local market.
Francesco Speciale, Managing Director of Volvo Cars for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, said the D5 opening reflects Volvo EX90's commitment to its investments in the company's future in Egypt. He also noted that this step is part of a broader plan to expand the distribution network and enhance after-sales services across the entire region.
