Qasrawi Pledges Damaged Jetour Cars Will Not Be Sold as New After Truck Accident
Qasrawi Group formally notified Egypt's Consumer Protection Agency after a truck carrying 8 new Jetour vehicles overturned during transit. The company provided chassis and engine data to prevent any resale as brand-new cars, and confirmed none were delivered to customers. The agency is overseeing inspection and evaluation, and Qasrawi pledged the vehicles will not be sold as new without full disclosure.
Eight new Jetour vehicles never made it to their buyers. The truck carrying them overturned before delivery, turning a routine transport run into a real test of dealer transparency in the Egyptian market. The distributor moved fast.
Formal Notification to Consumer Protection Agency
Qasrawi Group, the official distributor of Jetour in Egypt, notified the Consumer Protection Agency about the incident. It didn't wait for complaints. The company handed over complete data on all eight damaged vehicles, including chassis and engine numbers, specifically to block any attempt to resell them as brand-new.
That's not a routine step. The agency confirmed in a statement that it received the formal notice from Qasrawi and is monitoring the situation in full coordination with the company until inspection and technical evaluation are complete.
None of the Eight Vehicles Reached Customers
A company source made one thing clear: the eight vehicles were still in transit when the accident happened. No customer had received any of them. That detail matters. Had even one been delivered, the legal and commercial picture would look entirely different today.
So what happens to these cars? The source stressed that Qasrawi won't treat or sell them as new without full disclosure of their actual condition. The commitment is on record.
What This Means for Egypt's Car Market
A truck accident looks isolated, yet it raises a broader question about how vehicles are tracked before they reach buyers. A market under supply pressure needs robust disclosure and proper documentation of every unit's condition.
Qasrawi says it started cataloging damaged vehicles from the first moments and is cooperating fully with regulators. A full technical evaluation is next, with the Consumer Protection Agency overseeing the process.
The file is open. The data is logged. Final decisions on all eight vehicles will follow the inspection.
