Foton Delivers 32 Electric Buses to Option Travel to Support Sustainable Tourism Transport

32 buses. Chinese manufacturer Foton Motor has delivered 32 electric passenger microbuses to Option Travel for tourism transport, a move aimed at expanding the use of eco-friendly vehicles and keeping pace with the shift toward sustainable mobility solutions in Egypt.

Mohamed Kamel, Chairman and Managing Director of Option Travel, said introducing electric vehicles into the company's fleet is an important step in developing its services, enabling the expansion of low-emission transport options in line with the growing sustainability requirements of companies and institutions. He added that the step reflects the company's environmental responsibility and keenness to keep up with developments in the transport sector by investing in modern solutions that support operational efficiency and elevate the level of services provided to customers.

Partnership with Infinity for Charging Solutions

To support the operation of the electric fleet, Option Travel signed a memorandum of understanding and partnership agreement with Infinity, a company working in electric vehicle charging solutions in Egypt and operator of one of the country's largest EV charging networks, to provide integrated charging solutions that enhance the operating efficiency of electric vehicles. The partnership includes providing charging infrastructure to support the new fleet.

The move reflects a broader shift in Egypt's transport sector toward electrification. Foton is looking to strengthen its presence in the electric commercial vehicle market, while Option Travel seeks to offer eco-friendly services to tourists.
