El-Khanagry Group for Automotive Components and Delmar Automotive, a subsidiary of Delmar Industrial Group, have announced a strategic partnership to develop, manufacture, assemble, and supply smart sunroof systems for vehicles in Egypt. The initiative aims to bolster localization efforts in the automotive industry, with local content exceeding 75%, marking a significant step toward deepening domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Partnership Details and Production Targets

The signing ceremony was attended by Engineer Raafat El-Khanagry, CEO of El-Khanagry Group, and Engineer Daniel El-Khanagry, Projects Manager, representing the group. Delmar Industrial Group was represented by Engineer Mahmoud Haroun, Chairman and Managing Director, and Engineer Sayed Amara, General Manager of Delmar Automotive. According to an official statement, the project targets meeting the needs of car manufacturers and assembly plants operating in the Egyptian market, while also opening new export markets regionally and globally by producing an integrated smart sunroof system that meets international standards.

First Integrated Industrial Model in Egypt

This project represents the first fully integrated industrial model in Egypt, combining specialized glass manufacturing for sunroof systems with local production and assembly of the associated mechanical and electrical components. This integration helps reduce reliance on imports and enhances the added value of the national industry. Under the agreement, Delmar Automotive will handle the design and manufacturing of specialized glass, while El-Khanagry Group will manufacture and assemble the mechanical and electrical components and motors, delivering a complete product bearing the "Made in Egypt" label.

Engineer Raafat El-Khanagry stated that the project is a qualitative leap in the development of the automotive components industry, aiming to build an industrial base capable of competing regionally and globally, not just replacing imports. He added that the first phase targets production launch in the first quarter of 2027 with an annual capacity of 30,000 units, gradually increasing to 150,000 units per year by 2028, with a portion allocated for export.

Engineer Mahmoud Haroun emphasized that the partnership aligns with the group's strategy to expand into advanced automotive components, supporting national plans to deepen local manufacturing and boost industrial exports. He noted that the group is leveraging cutting-edge technologies in specialized glass manufacturing and electronic components, enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets and contributing to sustainable industrial development goals.
