El Arab El Sewedy Group Signs Deal to Distribute OMODA and JAECOO in Egypt
El Arab El Sewedy Investments (ESI) has announced the signing of a strategic dealership agreement with China's Chery Group, making it the official distributor for the OMODA and JAECOO brands in the Egyptian market. This move is part of an ambitious plan to strengthen the group's presence in the automotive sector and expand into the new energy vehicle market, using Egypt as a launchpad for regional growth.
Strategic Partnership Details
In an official statement, the group confirmed that the agreement grants it the rights to represent and market both brands in Egypt, reflecting Chery Group's confidence in El Arab El Sewedy's commercial, marketing, and manufacturing capabilities. The deal marks the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership aimed at supporting the growth of both brands in the region, solidifying Egypt's position as a regional hub for automotive trade and industry, while localizing smart transport technology and enhancing added value.
Vehicle Lineup and After-Sales Services
Under the agreement, El Arab El Sewedy will introduce OMODA and JAECOO vehicles to the Egyptian market, offering the latest models including internal combustion, hybrid, and electric variants. This move addresses the growing demand for new energy vehicles, with the group also committing to provide comprehensive after-sales services and genuine spare parts from the outset. The group has developed an integrated plan for gradual expansion in the local market, aiming to enhance the brands' reach through an advanced distribution and service network, supporting its regional growth ambitions.
Global Performance of OMODA and JAECOO
The statement highlighted that since their global launch in 2023, OMODA and JAECOO have achieved rapid growth, with cumulative sales surpassing one million vehicles—the fastest milestone ever reached by modern brands. Their presence now extends to approximately 70 markets worldwide. Notably, the JAECOO 7 has topped its segment in the United Kingdom, making the brand one of the fastest-growing among major players in the British market over the past decade.
Dual-Brand Strategy
Both brands adopt a "dual-brand" strategy: OMODA focuses on modern crossover vehicles with contemporary designs and smart technologies targeting younger buyers, while JAECOO offers SUVs that combine luxury, practicality, and a spirit of adventure. Founded in 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, the Chery Group has evolved into one of the world's leading automotive manufacturers.
