Citroën Records Strong Sales Growth in First Half of 2026
Citroën has reported outstanding performance during the first half of 2026, driven by solid results in European and global markets. Global sales rose by 4.4%, including the Chinese market, while Europe led this growth with an 8% increase and a market share of 3.4%, up 0.1 percentage points compared to 2025.
Fully Renewed Lineup Drives Growth
These positive results are based on a completely renewed model lineup, developed with the clear goal of offering cars that are easy for customers to own and precisely meet their expectations. The results also reflect Citroën's ongoing commitment to improving the customer experience, particularly through the Citroën We Care warranty program, which provides coverage of up to 8 years, enhancing consumer confidence in the brand.
Xavier Chardon, CEO of Citroën, said: "The first half of the year confirms Citroën's strong comeback; our completely new lineup has been well received by customers, and our vision of providing accessible mobility solutions is gaining momentum, especially in the electric vehicle segment. These results reflect the commitment of our teams and dealer network, and give us a strong incentive to continue growing, as the second half of the year will mark a new phase in our expansion strategy."
Europe Leads with Record Market Share Gains
Citroën achieved strong results in Europe, outperforming the overall market during the first half of 2026. Registrations rose by 8% year-to-date, with market share reaching 3.4%, up 0.1 percentage points compared to last year. The brand saw notable growth in five key markets including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Austria.
In the French market, Citroën continued to strengthen its position as the third-largest brand in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, with sales growing by 3.8% and market share rising to 8.4%. The great success of new models like the C3, C3 Aircross, and C5 Aircross contributed significantly to this sales increase.
Furthermore, orders for electric vehicles jumped by 98% during the first half of the year compared to the same period last year, now accounting for about one-third of the brand's total orders. This underscores Citroën's growing focus on sustainable and electric mobility solutions, strengthening its position in the evolving global automotive market.
